Lake Seminole Information

Completed in 1957, Lake Seminole was designed primarily for navigation and power.  Excellent bass fishing, hunting and water skiing are just fringe benefits.  The lake covers over 37,000 acres of land in both Georgia and Florida.  Via the locks on the Woodruff Dam, you can even travel the Apalachicola River to the ocean.

Year round mild weather makes Lake Seminole truly an all season lake.  Whether it is bass fishing in the spring or duck hunting in the fall, you'll find a time of year that you love.

Nature lovers will find quite a variety of things to see.  Ospreys can be seen nesting on channel markers and diving in the water for fish.  Alligators can often be sighted floating in the water or basking in the sun on the banks.  Numerous birds ranging from waterfoul to song birds can be seen in all areas of the lake.

You will find catfish, bass, and other varieties of fish throughout the lake.  There are numerous coves, inlets, and channels that will invoke the spirit of exploration within you.

Lake Seminole is one of the most relaxing areas to visit.  Once you visit, you will return again and again.
